A few words to talk about… Fred whom I have known for 23 years now, your arrival in his life… and your union that you asked me to testify
Frédéric, I met him in 1999.
He was 30 and looked only 25. No one is surprised. This offset seems tenacious, even today.
Fred looks young, he takes on life like a youngster, he’s slim like a youngster, he makes jokes at the table like a youngster, and he’s up for anything like a youngster. He has it all.
We formalized our relationship as brothers-in-law in 2005, when I married your little sister Lucile. She is now over 40 but like you, she still looks young.
Sophie: good pick, it’s in the DNA!
In 99, Fred practices yoga and already eats tofu. The beginnings of an exemplary life, taken from a magazine of the perfect young man.
He is different, modern, always ready, very generous.
Fred is a man who (almost) always says yes.
His aura goes beyond borders. Called by Bill Gates to join him in Seattle, he signs up for more than 10 years!
Fortunately Bill releases him for a few weeks in the summer… which he often spends on the Ile de Ré.
It was an opportunity to meet the man who left for the US, in the worlds of startups and innovation. Where everything is created.
It takes courage to go there, 12 hours by plane away from his family, but it also takes courage to leave the quasi-professional family he had created for himself at Microsoft. Winner of various MS awards, Fred went all the way with the concept by leaving Microsoft in its firmament to join a startup and then a second one.
Fred, this is a very personal opportunity for me to say congratulations for this proof of courage. Young companies need high-level people to move forward. Thank you for taking this big leap.
Seattle, for us relatively sedentary humble French people, is a long way off. Amazon, Adobe, Microsoft, it’s also the place of a historic squat in your 1800 square feet two-bedroom condo overlooking Lake Union. An extraordinary stay that will mark several people in this room.
Naturally, you missed us a little.

We have “remade the world” 100 times in my kitchen. The France you knew has changed. A new adventure in perspective!
Among the moments, I remember the Paris marathon in 2013. A nice last minute inlay, you weren’t even registered, I had to pass you my bib under the fence. While you were planning to run a little 10 km alongside me, you finished this marathon! … without training, despite weather conditions that had gotten the better of the other friends.
A wonderful memory that sums up your life well until today: a healthy mind in a healthy body, always free, always agile, always on top.
Outstanding engineer, accomplished sportsman, I also remember your acting skills when you animated with passion an improvised 20-hour newspaper for my 40th birthday. An outstanding presenter, still a career in possible gestation.
In 2015-2020, you line up around the world on big comfortable boats, almost luxurious, across the oceans, the most beautiful spots in the world. But you also appreciate the great Les Portes – La Tranche crossings on an 18-foot sports catamaran at 15-20 knots to create sheaves 2 meters high in the Pertuis Breton. Emotional sequences that we shared with my son Camille, whom I still see clinging to the mast and disappearing under the waves.
During these years, in all discretion, you came to the rescue of the big advertising groups who knew as little as I about the construction of websites… and this still continues today. Whatever the day, the hour, even in full preparation for your wedding.

Fred told me that he was ready to settle in Thailand or the US as long as the sun is out, he was traveling the world on a delivery trip… and here you are.
