Hello everyone,
Let me introduce myself, my name is Marie-Laure, witness and friend of the bride. It is an honor to be your witness Sophie and it is a great pleasure to be present this evening to celebrate your wedding. Thank you for choosing me as a witness, which is a strong sign of our friendship.
I would like to say that this marriage and its preparation were an opportunity for me to meet people who are part of your life and whom Sophie has often spoken to me about. I am delighted to have been able to meet you all. So thank you for bringing us together around this happy event.
So, I was kind of a witness to the evolution of Sophie and Frédéric’s story, from their virtual meeting almost 2 years ago up until their physical meeting in January 2021! When Fred came back from the other side of the world to meet Sophie in real life, after corresponding together for several months, we hoped that it would match then and there as much as it did from a distance. And it did was the case. The apprehension of the physical encounter quickly dissipated. Frédéric, glad that Sophie managed to make you forget about the vahines to the point of crossing the globe again for her!
By searching for the etymology of the name Sophie on the internet, we can read that:
Sophie is consciencious, discreet and very pleasant to work with, Frédéric cannot say the opposite!
She has an innate sense of organization and duty and I can testify, having worked with her in the same company! She always prepared her meetings in advance, which often put a lot of pressure on others to be up to it. You don’t want to mess up with Sophie’s high standards!
She is also very comfortable in society and knows how to convey her optimism.
Generous, enthusiastic and social, she has a big heart and often devotes herself to noble causes, such as her commitment to the Good Planet Foundation.
On the romantic level, reserved or even shy, she likes to take refuge in her own world, and can sometimes appear lonely. But you knew, Frédéric, how to reassure her, as she can sometimes lack self-confidence. And you knew how to make her happy.
I don’t know about you, but I find it hard to imagine two more similar/complementary people. You have so many things in common, a passion for sport, culture, travel… So because Sophie and Fred really bring out the best in each other, because they encourage each other every day, develop their curiosities, I suggest we raise our glasses to our happy couple, Sophie and Frédéric. May the joys you share today be the beginning of a life of happiness and fulfillment!
